Bays Senior Tournaments



Rules & Regulations


1. Teams are registered once they have submitted the tournament entry form and full payment has been received. Registration is limited. Teams will be accepted based on a first come, first served basis.
2. No current Division 1, Division 2 or Victoria Metro players are permitted in the Men’s Recreational, Over 35 or Over 48 Divisions. No players under the age of 35 as of December 31 of the current playing season are permitted in the Men’s Over 35 Division. No players under the age of 48 as of December 31 of the current playing season are permitted in the Men’s Over 48 Division. No current Premier, Division 1 or Victoria Metro players are permitted in the Women's Recreational Division.
3. No player who is currently under League suspension may participate in the Tournament.
4. Teams found to have played games with ineligible players will forfeit any points acquired in those games.
5. Points will be awarded as follows: three points for a win, one point for a tie. Standings at the end of round-robin play will be determined by points, followed by goal differential.
6. FIFA rules of play apply with the following exceptions:
a. The number of players on the field per team in the Men's and Women's Competitive, Men's and Women's Recreational and Men's Over 35 Divisions is 6 including the goalkeeper. The number of players on the field per team in all other Divisions is 7 including the goalkeeper.
b. The game is played on an indoor, artificial turf mini-field with side and end lines (no play off of the walls).
c. Playing time consists of 2 halves of 16 minutes with a 2 minute half time break.
d. There are no offsides.
e. Player substitutions take place on the fly at each team's goal line. The player coming off must leave the field before the replacement player can come on.
f. The keeper can only handle the ball inside the goal crease area. Playing the ball with the hands outside this area will result in a direct free kick for the opposing team.
g. The ball is brought into play from the sidelines by a kick-in.
h. If the ball is touches the roof or divider curtain, it is out of play and an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team.
i. Slide tackles are not permitted and will result in a direct free kick for the opposing team.
j. On free kicks, all opponents must be at least 3 meters from the ball.
k. If a red card is issued or two yellow cards are issued to the same player in one game, the player will be required to leave the turf facility and will be suspended from participating in the following game. In this instance, the team will be allowed to replace the penalized player on the field. A player receiving a second red card will be expelled from the tournament.
l. The Game Official 's decisions are final. There will be no appeal process.
7. Only indoor turf shoes, running shoes and regular 'multi' cleats are permitted in the Turf Facility  - no steel or 6-stud cleats.  All footwear must be clean of dirt and other contaminants.
